How to Hire
To hire a day laborer, you may call (707) 829-1864 in advance, or just pull into our center at 2981 Bowen Street- 1 1/2 blocks south of downtown (follow the yellow and black sounds in town.) Once getting to our center, you will be approached by a work-coordinator who will help you match your needs with the appropriate workers. That person can act as a translator, if necessary, clarifying the needs and conditions of work to the day laborer(s). If you require specific skills for the work, please call in advance so that the best match is found.
Wages- Salaries are paid directly to the worker at the end of the day. The day laborers suggest a wage of $12 per hour, with $15 per hour for work requiring special skills or unusually difficult labor.
Meals- For work of more than five hours, we ask that you provide a hot meal. We also ask that you provide a regular supply of drinking water.
Transportation- For those picked up in Graton, we ask that you provide transportation back to Graton. However, some workers may have their own vehicles and will not require transport.
A Favorite Worker?- Employers are encouraged to rehire those who they have had good experiences with, by asking for that worker by name.
Feedback- In order to provide for the best service, we will provide you with a feedback card at the beginning of the job, with the day laborer’s names attached. We would encourage you to mail the card back to us so that we may monitor satisfaction and job performance.
