“Learning is a social process that occurs through interpersonal interaction within a cooperative context. Individuals, working together, construct shared understandings and knowledge“.

I've never done this!

Never hired from the day labor center before?

No problem! The vast majority of our first-time employers have rated the experience very satisfactory, and plan to use the services again. In addition, many employers have found the experience very culturally rich.

Don’t speak Spanish, or feel unsure of your ability to communicate?

We can make the experience work for you, and make it something you are likely to repeat!

What kind of wages do I pay?

The recommended wage is $12/hour for general labor, with higher wages recommended for skilled or extra difficult work. These recommendations have been decided by assemblies of the day laborers.

What about food?

We ask that lunch and water be provided, as many workers, without knowing if they will go out to work or not, do not bring lunches. If this is not possible, it is best to let us know in advance so that we can prepare.

What about transportation?

Workers can be sent to job sites, though this limits many workers job opportunities, since they may not own a car. If transportation needs to be arranged it is best to do in advance so that directions are as clear as possible

How do I get there?

We are located in downtown Graton, on Graton Road, one mile west of Hwy 116. You cannot miss our yellow sandwich signs. Look for the opening our our permanent site on Bowen Ave, two blocks south of the downtown business district, starting summer, 2007.
